SLEEP LOSS

We all appreciate a good night’s sleep. Constant evening flights past 11:00 p.m. cause interruptions to the beginning phase of the sleep cycle. Some residents are impacted due to interrupted REM sleep, or have inconsistent sleep patterns due to fly-over traffic.

GTAA is considering commissioning a study to evaluate the possibility of using preferential runways (between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.) so that runways 24L/R could be utilised (which impacts those living on the downwind flight track).

The centre of the city (mid-town) already experiences sleep loss when weather prevents usage of preferential runways – landing planes west to east.

Why reduce our sleep even more?!!
Write to your M.P. and Councillor to stop this nonsense!.
